Sollers Ford’s Russia plant to stop assembly line from Thursday
MOSCOW, Mar 2 (PRIME) -- Car manufacturer Sollers Ford will stop its assembly line at its plant in Yelabuga in the Tatarstan Region from Thursday, due to the decision by its partner Ford Motor Company to temporarily terminate its operations in Russia, the former said in a statement on Wednesday.
“Due to Ford Motor Company’s decision to temporarily suspend the joint venture’s operations and activities, Sollers Ford announces it is going into downtime as of March 3,” the statement read.
Sollers Ford reported that the management will take all actions stipulated by law to ensure social obligations to the staff during the forced downtime, as well as resume production at the enterprise as soon as possible after the decision on the part of Ford.
